Sure! If Albert was told May or June, then he would not be able to make the statement, “I know that Bernard doesn’t know either,” because those months each include possibilities that allow for Bernard to know Cheryl’s birthday. For instance, if Albert was told May, he would look at the May options and see May 19. He would think, “If Cheryl whispered ’19’ to Bernard, then he would know her birthday is May 19, because there are no other 19s.” June also has a unique date as a possibility: June 18. But all the dates in July and August are not unique, so only with those months could Albert confidently state, while knowing only the month, “I know that Bernard does not know either.”
